TajSATS is currently hiring candidates for F&B Service department for catering operations at a premium hospital in South Mumbai.
About the Role
The Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage will supervise and coordinate daily inpatient food service operations, including meal preparation, dietary checks, tray assembly and distribution.
A preffered candidate for the below mentioned role will be with prior work experience from a hospital or healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of patient dietary requirements, clinical coordination and healthcare service standards
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with prescribed patient diets in coordination with the Dietetics / Nutrition team.
- Monitor service workflows to ensure meals are delivered accurately, safely, and on time.
- Oversee the cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards of all F&B areas in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Supervise F&B supervisors, stewards, and service staff working in inpatient areas.
- Schedule staffing, Duty roster and shift planning / allocation manage attendance, and allocate duties to ensure adequate coverage reduce attrition and control absenteeism.
- Conduct training sessions on food safety, service standards, patient interaction, and hygiene.
- Monitor room service & RT / Liquid Feed delivery and clearance time.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support employee development.
- Ensure courteous, compassionate, and professional service delivery to patients and attendants.
- Handle escalations related to meal service, special meal requests, or service concerns.
- Conduct patient rounds to assess service quality and gather feedback.
- Implement service improvements based on patient satisfaction metrics.
- Patient satisfaction scores - above 85 %.
- Ensure full compliance with hospital policies, infection control protocols, HACCP standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular hygiene audits of kitchens, pantries, and service areas.
- Ensure proper documentation of food safety practices, SOP adherence, and quality checklists.
- Work closely with Dieticians, Nursing Teams, Housekeeping, and Clinical Departments for seamless service delivery.
- Control Breakages and maintain inventory, coordinate with KST team for CCG inventory.
- Support the Manager F&B in preparing reports, audits, and departmental initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Management, or related field.3–5 years of experience in F&B operations, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.Required Skills

INR 6–7 lakhs per annum , based on experience and qualifications.However, salary is not a benchmark for the best-suited candidate , and exceptional candidates may be offered compensation commensurate with their skills, expertise, and overall fit for the role.
