Job Title : Design Engineer – Cockpit

Location : Chennai

Notice Period : Immediate to 30 Days (Max)

Experience : 3 to 8 Years

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer – Cockpit to join our ER&D team in Chennai. The role involves design and development of interior trims such as Instrument Panel (IP), Floor Console, and CCB. You will translate design performance requirements into high-quality CAD data aligned with standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & develop cockpit interior trims – Instrument Panel, Floor Console, CCB.
• Provide CAD support and manage design activities as per program timelines.
• Ensure CAD data accuracy and maturity levels at all project stages.
• Good knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes & feasibility checks.
• Basic understanding of DFMEA, DVP, DFA / DFM.
• Conduct DMU reviews for system & environment.
• BOM creation and data management in NPDM / NX-PDM.
• Prepare 2D drawings and drafting of assemblies / components.
• Handle geometry, packaging, process, and manufacturability constraints.
• Prepare technical presentations, highlight issues, and propose solutions.
• Apply GD&T and adhere to customer design standards.
• Work on CATIA / NX (Surface, Solid, Drafting).
• Ensure all project deliverables are completed with proper documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

✓ Cockpit manufacturing requirements (tooling & design)

✓ IP, Floor Console, CCB design & development

✓ Cockpit system regulations (added advantage)
