Systems Engineer – Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

As part of our digital engineering transformation, we are strengthening our Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) capabilities across multiple programs.
Altair is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in MBSE to help drive the adoption of modern systems engineering practices under the guidance of domain experts. The selected candidate will develop system architectures, requirements frameworks, and verification plans using MBSE tools—supporting disciplined design and certification processes, including those aligned with CEMILAC guidelines for aerospace programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of MBSE practices across engineering teams and programs.
- Develop system models, architectures, and requirements using Jama Connect and SysML-based tools.
- Establish end-to-end requirements traceability through design, integration, and verification.
- Collaborate with controls, navigation, mechanical, avionics, and software teams to capture system-level behavior.
- Support documentation and processes relevant to aerospace and UAV certification, including CEMILAC.
- Facilitate design reviews and ensure MBSE artifacts remain current and consistent across the program lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).Hands-on experience with MBSE methodologies and tools (Jama Connect, Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.).Strong understanding of requirements engineering, system architecture, and verification workflows.Experience in UAV or aerospace development environments.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with CEMILAC or equivalent defense-aerospace certification processes.Experience with safety / reliability frameworks and structured documentation practices.Knowledge of architecture standards (DoDAF / MODAF) is a plus.Why Join Altair?
