Overview

The goal of Cloud Growth and Insights(CGI) team is to foster a data-driven culture, to encourage and enable the azure customers and partners to make more informed decisions through data. As part of that work, team develops and operationalizes the high scale data platform that enables microsoft customers to realize and manage cloud costs and partner teams to operationalize their goals. As the volume of data-and the demand for solutions-grows, we need a strong and experienced leader who can architect and drive skilled engineering team to deliver and manage data solutions.

Cloud Growth and Insights team supports our employees in all locations around the country. This job has the option to be remote or located in one of our hubs : Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, or Redmond.

Qualifications

2+ years of people management experience
8+ years of programming experience in C# OR Java OR equivalent object-oriented programming
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent industry experience
Strong technical expertise, met by proficiency in implementing 2 or more of the following or equivalent areas :

o 4+ years building and running high scale services

o Mission critical big data workloads on Open Source Big Data Stack such as Hadoop, HIVE, SPARK, HBASE etc.

o Implementation of Distributed Systems

o Implementation of Message based architecture

o High scale OLTP or OLAP storage implementations

Experience leading and delivering projects that span multiple engineering organizations

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.
