Application Engineer

Under general supervision by the Technical Manager, this employee will provide daily support to the direct sales force, representatives, and customers in the areas of API-610 Pumps and other pump applications, proposal development and order processing / management. Specifically, this includes review of API-610 pump specifications, proposal preparation, providing technical support to customers, interfacing with vendors, order processing and expediting.

Responsibilities of the Applications Engineer include, but are not limited to :

• Review customer inquiries and specifications - Using the company Intelliquip quotation platform & other tools, prepare comprehensive professional proposals in a timely manner
• Log pump proposals into Sales Force and keep database current
• Focus is on generating proposals for new PumpWorks 610 products and other industrial pumps
• Handle customer telephone and email inquiries as they come in
• Meet proposal due dates and provide completed pump proposals per the requirements of the customer including completing customer datasheets & bid documents
• Interface with outside vendors to solicit quotes for equipment
• Effectively process API-610 pump orders and manage any issues that arise during the project execution
• Function as a liaison between operations and the customer as needed
• Be available to participate in sales team calls as part of the development process
• Assist PumpWorks representatives and agents with pump selections and provide proposals to support their inquiries
• Provide technical support to customers and sales team on product selection & applications dealing with API 610 pumps and industrial pumps
• Attend pre-award meetings or technical discussions as required
• Coordinate and schedule internal order KOM's as necessary
• Effectively communicate with the team on account status, activity and issues
• Follow up and record activity on proposals to resellers with goal of turning API-610 pump proposals into orders
• Actively participates in discussions on pricing strategies with sales management
• Develop effective rapport with customer contacts
• Continually strive to increase API-610 pump specifications, pump configurations and API-610 pump design
• Travel international and domestic as required to support sales team in customer meetings

Education : Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree
