Job Title : Solar Power Plant Technician

Purpose

The Solar Power Plant Technician is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing photovoltaic (PV) systems to ensure optimal performance and energy production. This role involves working onsite at solar power plants conducting routine inspections and performing necessary maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize plant efficiency.

Preferred Candidates

  • Diploma in Electrical Electronics or Renewable Energy Engineering or a related field.
  • 1 3 years of experience working in solar power plants or renewable energy projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety and solar energy best practices.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor settings and under various weather conditions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • 1. System Maintenance and Inspection
  • DC system maintenance like. Inverter scb scada panels & MMS. Ac system maintenance like 33kv HT panel IDT & switchyard equipments as per maintenance schedule. Visual Inspection of Dc & AC systems.

  • 2. Repairs and Troubleshooting
  • Restoring string breakdown & inverter breakdown in the PV system ensuring minimum downtime. Replace damaged or defective parts such as fuses breakers and modules as required. LT cable fault finding & rectification. HT panel breakdown restoration.

    Switchyard equipment breakdown restoration.

  • 3. Safety and Compliance
  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with company local and national electrical codes and standards. Maintain records of repairs maintenance and inspections in line with regulatory requirements.

  • 4. Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare and submit reports on maintenance & breakdown activities energy output and equipment status. Module cleaning & Grass cutting inspection & report submission. Collaborate with other team members to coordinate larger repairs and upgrades.

    NonNegotiable Skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems especially as they relate to solar power and photovoltaic technology.
  • Familiarity with solar plant monitoring systems and diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards for electrical work.
  • Proficiency in using basic electrical testing tools (e.g. multimeters solar radiation meters).
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Strong physical fitness for working in outdoor conditions and handling solar components.
