Role

s and Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting for leases and ensure compliance with lease accounting standards such as IFRS 16 and ASC 842.
  • Accurately record lease transactions, including lease classification, initial recognition, measurement, and subsequent accounting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather lease data and ensure completeness and accuracy of lease information.
  • Perform lease analysis to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for complex lease arrangements.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures related to lease accounting.
  • Stay updated on changes in lease accounting standards under US GAAP and IFRS and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Serve as an individual contributor, taking ownership of lease accounting processes and delivering high-quality results autonomously.
  • Take ownership of transitioning lease accounting processes from onshore teams, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and continuity of operations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, providing documentation and explanations related to fixed asset transactions and controls.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness for improvements in process.
  • Prepare and update process documents related to lease accounting, ensuring clarity and consistency in procedures.

Eligibility to Apply

  • Qualified Accountant with 5+ years’ experience / Semi Qualified Accountant (CA / CWA / CIMA / ACCA) or MBA in Finance with minimum of 8-12 years’ experience.
  • Solid understanding of lease accounting principles and standards, including IFRS 16 and ASC 842
  • Rigorous attention to details, professional attitude, reliable
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities
  • Able to analyse and interpret a range of complex financial issues and problems.
  • Strong work ethics, well organised and self-starter.

  • Resolving ad-hoc queries from onsite counterparts within and outside the division
  • Completion of all process related MI’s and governance tools
  • Manage Support / cover for other members / team members of the finance team as required
