Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. Reports to : Cleanroom & HVAC Lead

Job Summary :

The Cleanroom Construction, Supervision, and Design Coordination Specialist will oversee and coordinate the design, construction, and supervision of cleanroom facilities within an OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) construction project. With a background in mechanical engineering and 10 years of experience, including work in contracting firms, this specialist will ensure that cleanroom construction meets industry standards, project specifications, and timeline requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Cleanroom Construction Oversight :

  • Lead and manage all phases of cleanroom construction, including planning, execution, and inspection, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that all cleanroom construction activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor the progress of cleanroom construction and implement corrective measures as needed to maintain timelines and quality standards.

2. Design Coordination :

  • Collaborate with design teams, architects, and consultants to review and coordinate cleanroom designs, ensuring integration with other project systems.
  • Verify that mechanical and HVAC systems are designed and installed to meet cleanroom specifications, including airflow, filtration, and environmental control requirements.
  • Conduct design reviews and facilitate coordination meetings to resolve design conflicts and incorporate feedback from project stakeholders.
  • 3. Technical Supervision and Quality Assurance :

  • Oversee the technical aspects of cleanroom construction, ensuring compliance with cleanroom standards (e.g., ISO 14644) and best practices.
  • Perform quality checks and inspections at various stages of construction to ensure adherence to approved plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and conduct performance testing of cleanroom systems, including validation of air quality, temperature control, and pressure differentials.
  • 4. Project Management :

  • Develop and manage project schedules specific to cleanroom construction, tracking milestones and adjusting timelines as necessary to align with overall project goals.
  • Liaise with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of specialized cleanroom materials and equipment.
  • Prepare progress reports and documentation to keep project management and clients informed of the status and any challenges faced.
  • 5. Stakeholder Coordination and Communication :

  • Act as the main point of contact for cleanroom-related inquiries, providing expert guidance to project teams, contractors, and client representatives.
  • Facilitate effective communication between engineering teams, design consultants, and construction personnel to ensure a unified approach to cleanroom construction.
  • Address concerns or issues related to cleanroom design or construction promptly to maintain project efficiency.
  • 6. Health, Safety, and Compliance :

  • Ensure that all cleanroom construction activities comply with local safety regulations, project-specific safety plans, and industry standards.
  • Implement safety measures and conduct regular safety audits to prevent workplace incidents during cleanroom construction.
  • Ensure that all work meets relevant environmental and safety regulations and that proper documentation is maintained for compliance purposes.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years specifically related to cleanroom projects.
  • Previous experience working with contracting firms, with demonstrated expertise in large-scale industrial or semiconductor construction.
  • Desired Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of cleanroom design and construction standards (e.g., ISO 14644).
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project).
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder coordination.
