Job Purpose

The Design Engineer is responsible to develop design and analysis of components for existing / New products of Royal Enfield . The incumbent will be responsible for Designing components and aggregates in line with vehicle package and styling requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Lighting Controls team of hardware , firmware and software engineers responsible for the design, development , troubleshooting and execution of lighting control systems and solutions..
• Develop Technical direction of the project / solution / product, anticipating requirements and having strategies and plans in place.
• Identify the most suitable technology and framework.
• Define the functional requirement of system including the product functions, define building blocks for hardware , embedded Firmware design and communication technology such as wired or wireless and software requirements.
• Manage full product life cycle from conceptualization to launch.
• Document engineering requirements, create technical specification and solution.
• Innovate futuristic solution / application of new and latest technologies suitable to the business.
• Monitor the technology trends in smart lighting domain and develop the roadmap for Lighting controls solutions development.
• Visits and interactions with customers and consumers for getting consumer insights and understanding the requirements.
• Visits and presentations to customers along with product management for training and spec in of Crompton Lighting control solutions.
• Study and review of various tenders for lighting controls and providing the optimum solutions to meet customer needs either with inhouse or outsourced solutions.
• Management of the external partners and internal stakeholders for design and development and execution of the projects or solutions.
• Manage / Design and development of lighting control products for residential consumers and professional customers.
• Manage Prototyping, testing, evaluations and commercial release of the products / solutions.
• Create test cases and manual / automated test workbench..
• Ensure Compliance of the complete system including hardware , firmware , software to standards as per regulation.
• Manage deployment of lighting control solutions for B2B customers.
• Manage Visit to sites for lighting controls project commissioning and address issues.
• Experience of having developed and launched IoT platforms preferably in lighting domain
• Experience of handled end to end projects upto execution in B2B Lighting controls domain
• Experience of having worked on tender requirements and providing technical solutions at enquiry and execution stages and implemented the solutions in lighting IoT B2B domain
• Knowledge of electronics hardware development based around microcontrollers
• Knowledge of Embedded C and hands-on experience of microcontroller programming (any architecture)
• Hands-on experience of programming and using microcontroller peripherals like Timer, PWM, ADC etc.
• Good working knowledge of communication protocols like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, BLE Mesh, LoRa and ZigBee, GSM , GPRS , PLC ,
• Hand-on experience with BLE or BLE mesh communication protocol will be plus
• Experience and working knowledge of various types of sensors used in lighting control applications.
