Job Title : Virtualization Expert

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Virtualization Expert to join our dynamic infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing virtualization solutions to ensure efficient and secure virtual environments. This role requires deep expertise in virtualization technologies, infrastructure optimization, and a strong understanding of networking and storage systems. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with carve-out projects, involving the separation and migration of IT infrastructure and services during corporate divestitures or acquisitions.
Main responsibilities
The Virtualization Expert is a strong technical expert, with proven expertise able to lead projects to be executed in various countries. She / He will handle the following areas :
Carve-Out Project Management :
- Lead and manage the virtualization aspects of carve-out projects, ensuring smooth separation and migration of data and services.
- Develop and execute detailed migration plans, timelines, and risk assessments for carve-out initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and minimal disruption during the carve-out process.
- Address and resolve any technical challenges related to virtualization during corporate divestitures or acquisitions.
Virtualization Management :
Design, deploy, and manage virtualization infrastructure using technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or Xen.Monitor and optimize virtual environments to ensure high performance, availability, and resource utilization.Implement and manage virtual machine (VM) provisioning, maintenance, and lifecycle management.Infrastructure Optimization and Scaling :
Develop strategies for scaling virtualization infrastructure to meet business needs.Optimize configurations for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.Integrate virtualization solutions with cloud services and hybrid environments.Regulatory compliance and industry-specific requirements :
Ensure virtual environments comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and encryption within virtual environments.Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of virtualization infrastructure.Technical Support and Troubleshooting :
Provide expert-level support for virtualization-related issues, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.Develop and maintain documentation, including procedures, policies, and best practices for virtualization management.Business continuity and disaster recovery :
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for virtual environments.Implement backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability in virtualized infrastructures.Test and validate disaster recovery procedures regularly.Cross-functional collaboration and project management :
Work closely with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of infrastructure with business objectives.Lead cross-functional teams through complex transformations, ensuring timely and effective execution.Regularly educate and empower leadership teams, business stakeholders, and operational teams on virtualization importance and best practicesAbout you
Technical background required
5+ years of experience in virtualization solution design, implementation, and support, with a focus on complex, large-scale environments.A proven track record in successfully managing carve-out projects, including data migration and IT separation, especially in multinational corporations.In-depth knowledge of virtualization architecture, infrastructure optimization, and security practices.Proven experience with major virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Xen, etc.).Experience with virtual networking and storage systems.Experience with encryption technologies and secure data transmission methods.Proficiency in virtualization management tools and services.Strong understanding of networking, storage systems, and cloud integration.Possession of advanced industry-recognized certifications such as VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator or other relevant certifications is appreciated.Continuous professional development and up-to-date knowledge of the latest virtualization technologies and security trends.Strong project management skills, with experience managing large-scale projects, including resource allocation, timeline management, and budgeting.Leadership experience in guiding technical teams and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.Soft skills required
