Job Purpose

The Design Engineer is responsible to develop design and analysis of components for existing / New products of Royal Enfield . The incumbent will be responsible for Designing components and aggregates in line with vehicle package and styling requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) hardware Electric Vehicles.
  • Requirement release for microcontroller peripherals, I / O, CAN, D / A and A / D converter, timer / counter, RTOS.
  • Responsible for design, development and validation testing of VCU.
  • VCU development with OTA and battery charging system compatibility.
  • Release of BSW and application software layer for VCU.
  • Release of Functional safety ISO26262 compliance VCU , AUTOSAR compatibility.
  • V &V cycle implementation for Hardware development using MATLAB / Simulink.
  • Embedded controller functionality testing on test bench and vehicle.
  • Systems Engineering for VCU IO requirement, VCU pin mapping, driver module development, API development and interface with application software .
  • VCU hardware requirements generation and peripheral interfaces.
  • Requirement definitions for I / O, CAN, D / A and A / D converter, timer / counter, RTOS.
  • ASIL level definition ,Functional safety and base software interface implementation.
  • Hardware development to fulfil EV battery charging requirements as per standards e.g. GB / T, CCS2 etc.,
  • V & V Cycle implementation for Hardware and base software development.
  • UDS, Diagnosis tool interface development.
  • Signal mapping interface layer between application software & base software.
  • VCU validation tests on bench and vehicle.
  • VCU DFMEA along with HARA evaluation.
  • AUTOSAR compliant base software requirement generation.
  • EMI / EMC compliance with automotive standards.
  • Anticipates stakeholders’ future needs and addresses them with current.
  • Experience in PCB design tools : Kicad, Altium, Easy EDA, Eagle CAD based Embedded Processors.
  • Good experience in power Electronics & HW design process.
  • Good Experience in high current power semiconductors (IGBT MOSFET, Diodes), gate drink and protection circuit design.
  • Good understanding of spice analog simulation.
  • Experience in VCU - Electronic Circuit design & simulation.
  • Exposure to automotive standards for EV.

Work Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering / Technology  (Electronics)
  • 10+ years Experience
  • Knowledge of various circuits used in EV components.
  • Hands on experience on PCB design.
  • Knowledge on power devices & power electronic design
  • Experience of VCU design
  • Exposure to global EV automobile standards.
