Responsibilities

Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from inception to release and post-launch support. Actively participate in hands-on development, writing high-quality code and contributing to feature development and technical design. Guide the team in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and robust systems, ensuring adherence to best practices in software engineering. Collaborate closely with product, engineering and design teams to define product requirements and user stories. Oversee architecture decisions, code reviews, and best practices, ensuring efficient development and deployment processes. Effectively allocate engineering resources by balancing workloads and optimizing team productivity. Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure comprehensive testing of product releases, identifying and addressing any issues or defects. Establish and optimize DevOps workflows, TDD, and CI / CD for fast, reliable releases. Advocate for development tools, such as GitHub CoPilot, and explore applications of LLMs for enhanced development efficiency. Establish and maintain engineering best practices, including secure coding guidelines, version control standards, and comprehensive release documentation such as deployment procedures and release notes. Collaborate with customer support and customer success teams to ensure a smooth customer experience during and after releases. Collect a combination of metrics, reporting, analysis, and action plans to ensure that the engineering team consistently delivers high-quality work and adapts to changes and challenges.

What you’ll need

8+ years of hands-on software development experience with a strong understanding of software engineering principles and methodologies, design patterns, and best practices. 2 years of experience leading a team with a track record of successfully delivering high-impact projects, ideally in startup or high-growth orgs Hands-on with technology and actively involved in coding, driven by a passion for tech and a strong ability to dive deep into code, design system architectures, and contribute to technical feasibility studies and decision-making. Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced startup environment. Experience with cloud platforms AWS, S3, EC2, RDS, SQS, SNS Strong experience with modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies & Tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), continuous integration, and test-driven development (TDD). Experience using GitHub CoPilot and LLMs to enhance coding efficiency and support automation. Strong CI / CD and DevOps mindset, using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI to automate build, test, and deployment pipelines. Solid understanding of database design, performance tuning, and distributed systems. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in tech stack Java with spring boot NodeJS, Express JS type Script, React Redis, Elastic Search Databases : NoSQL-MonogDB; MySQL, PostgreSQL Cloud : AWS, SQS, SNS, S3, EC2, RDS etc. Tools : Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Jira, etc.
