About the DWS ESG Engine team Our dedicated DWS ESG team is part of the CIO for Responsible Investments with activities integrated into the investment process, designed to go beyond the fiduciary duties. Our proprietary DWS ESG Engine uses data from multiple vendors which allows us to rely on amongst the best data sources available for analysis. The wealth of information available from these providers means that the DWS ESG Engine has access to more than 35 million data points for over 10,000 companies. The software translates the available data into a consistent evaluation process, to derive DWS ESG ratings which are used for investment process.

Your key responsibilities

DWS has established a firm framework on how algorithmic solutions like the ESG engine should be designed, implemented, and governed (“SDLC : software development lifecycle controls”).

The role is to ensure that any algorithms and supporting functionality designed and build by the ESG Engine Team meets technical coding excellence mandated by the SDLC

  • Control the technical coding excellence / quality of any business rule / code developed by the ESG Engine Team
  • Audit the codes for functional shortfalls / errors
  • Support documentation of code, test and governance as mandated by the SDLC
  • Secure successful release of correct code following the SDLC
  • As an ESG Analyst you will be a part of the Responsible Investment team in the CIO with hub in Frankfurt

    • Your skills and experience

    Education and Experience :

  • Experience in production support roles, i.e. executing procedures with zero failure rate
  • Academic background in IT / Engineering or similar with an affinity to coding
  • Ability to audit business rules for functional soundness / correctness
  • Firm understanding of packaging, deployment and ticketing procedures
  • Ability for shared development and working with code repositories
  • Experience on working with high volume of complex data
  • Strong analytical skills and mindset
  • Passionate about responsible investing and having positive impac
