About the Role

This candidate is expected to design the Ready upgrade Cluster. The candidate shall be an expert in Autosar and Embedded C with hands on experience in instrument cluster application development.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement the upgradable and configurable cluster architecture using the industry best practices and relevant standards.
  • Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs.
  • Perform technical coordination, problem triage, and solution.
  • Understand and improve required KPIs.
  • Ensure the delivery of features in scope, time and quality.
  • Ensure that the SW process is applied in the project in consultation with SW-APQP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cluster requirements.
  • Stay up to date with emerging Instrument cluster technologies, trends, and safety regulations, and provide expertise in addressing any new challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team on best practices and architectural design considerations for cluster.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on cluster requirements and standards.

What You Need

  • Masters / bachelor’s degree in electronics, communications, computer engineering or a similar discipline
  • Should have 10 to 15 years of overall experience with minimum of 8 years’ experience in automotive Instrument cluster development or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Embedded C.
  • Experience in designing and implementing Cluster functionalities SWCs) on IOC and on Safety Island
  • Experience in AUTOSAR SW development (Preferred Vector tools)
  • Good understanding of CAN / CAN-FD / Ethernet protocols including Vehicle diagnostics & related tools
  • Experience in inter process and inter processor communication mechanisms.
  • Self-driven and Innovative to drive continuous improvements in Development process.
  • Resourcefulness in triaging integration problems and coordinating with multiple teams for issue resolution.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive network protocols, ECU communication, and software architectures.
  • Good understanding of industry safety frameworks and standards, such as ISO 26262.
  • Good understanding of Embedded C++ programming.
  • Experience with IPC programming, Some / IP
  • Adapt at designing and developing reusable and scalable C, C++ code.
  • Hands on working experience with Linux / Qnx on an embedded platform
  • Working experience withIndustry standard version control systems like GIT, Gerrit, PerforceLDRA, Code sonar based static code analysis.Gtest based C++ unit test framework.

  • Experience in test methodologies, tools and methods
  • Good knowledge in testing embedded systems
  • Strong Know-How of technical / automotive standards in infotainment or telematics software projects
  • Efficiently meeting deadlines, schedules, and target dates
  • Expertise in working with distributed development teams
  • Business fluent in English
  • This position requires the use of a use of HARMAN or customer-owned vehicles. As such, usage of company vehicles will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion based on regional requirements.
