Job description :
Speech and Swallow Therapist :
Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members,
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in clients.
Administer standardized tests and specialized evaluation tools to determine the extent and nature of communication difficulties.
Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
Employ various techniques and exercises to enhance speech articulation, language comprehension, expression, and pragmatics.
Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods for clients who have severe communication impairments.
Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
Able to handle voice disorders, dysarthria, aphasia, aphraxia , language disorders and Dysphagia management
Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.
Able to do swallow therapy for adult patients with neurological deficits.
Update the daily documentation.
