Job description

Purpose of the Role :

PEO is responsible for the engineering and operations towards the platform (infrastructure) of Gentrack’s core products Junifer and Velocity on a global scale.

The team are based in the APAC and EMEA regions and work together as a logical group to develop, build, test, deploy, operate, and manage hosted solutions for our customers.

In the role of PEO - Engineer - Lead you will be applying your technical expertise and experience to apply best practice with driving continuous improvement using automation and innovation. You will be utilizing, supporting, and mentoring the PEO team, working closely with other teams across Gentrack as well as our third parties.

Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

Engineering :

  • Taking a team lead in the running scrums including sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Taking a technical lead on developing, building, and testing activities for platform architectures.
  • Creating, updating, and reviewing documentation of engineering processes, procedures, and system information.
  • Performing auditing, reporting, and other governance activities to uphold engineering standards and compliance.
  • Identifying opportunities engineering improvements.
  • Completing engineering proposals for analysis and decision making.

Operations :

  • Taking a technical lead on deploying, operating, and managing activities for platforms.
  • Creating, updating, and reviewing documentation of operations processes, procedures, and system information.
  • Performing auditing, reporting and other governance activities to uphold operations standards and compliance.
  • Identifying opportunities operations improvements.
  • Completing operations proposals for analysis and decision making.
  • Responding to platform incidents, performing technical investigations, resolutions, and reviews.
  • Pro-active monitoring and management of service health and performance.
  • Be a point of escalation for the on-call support rota to uphold 24 / 7 customer platform support.
  • Participating in scheduled work out-of-hours and standby support coverage on occasion.

  • Technical Experience and Skills :

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role as a lead delivering engineering and operations towards platform / infrastructure architecture with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance.
  • Working within ITIL service management frameworks and developing process improvements.
  • Working within agile methodologies with scrum teams, sprints, and Kanban boards.
  • Using Atlassian services (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Working within a Dev-Sec-Fin-Ops culture and practice.
  • Technical skills.
  • o System administration (Linux Amazon 2 / RHEL 7, Windows Server 2016+).

    o Networking administration (TCP / IP, firewalls, routing, VPNs, DNS).

    o Relational database administration (Oracle SQL SE2, SQL Server 2016+)

    o Cloud hosting engineering and administration.

  • IAM, EC2, SSM, KMS, VPC, S3, EFS, RDS, ECS, Route 53, CloudWatch, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CLI.
  • o Configuration management (Ansible).

    o Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

    o Coding (Java, Python).

    o Scripting (Bash, PowerShell).

    o Source control (Git, Bitbucket).

    o AWS Professional certified (Solutions Architect, SysOps, DevOps)
