QAQC Engineer

Reports / directs

Reports to : Discipline Head

Directs : Functionally group of Engineers & Designers for the project

Job summary

QAQC activities for Mechanical equipment (Static, Rotary), Piping bulk, Valves, etc.

Level in the organization

4th from Head of AdVENT

Key Relationships

Internal : With relevant teams within L&T group.

External : With respective clients / Vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management
  • Quality / HSE

Performs discipline check and Inter-discipline check of documents.

Ensures that the required integrity and quality of the work is maintained.

Familiar with the Quality / HSE Management system and their procedures.

Ensures timely corrective actions for the identified non-conformities.

  • Project Execution
  • Preparation / issue of Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Technical inputs to MR preparation.
  • Preparation of Project specific Quality procedures.
  • Co-ordination with concerned disciplines for QAQC activities.
  • Vendor offer review for QC / Inspection requirements for Equipments, Piping bulk, Valves, etc.
  • To conduct Pre-Inspection Meeting at Vendor’s shop.
  • Review of Vendor’s Quality Management System / Certification.
  • Vendor document review / approval.
  • Preparation of PO wise Tentative Inspection Schedule & Maintain the same progressively.
  • To monitor the Inspection Man-days and to maintain / update the Inspection Status for the Project.
  • Co-ordination of inspections at Vendor’s shop.
  • Inspection & Expediting at Vendor’s shop.
  • Review of Inspection reports & the Final documentation.
  • Approval / Issue of Inspection Release Note and to provide dispatch clearance.
  • Co-ordination with site QAQC.
  • Monitoring Man-hour consumption & Inspection cost.

  • Review the scope of work and seeks clarifications / technical queries from client / customer.

    Job Requirements

    Language :

    Good command on spoken and written English

    Education :

    Bachelors’ degree & / or Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering

    Professional Experience :

    8-15 years as QAQC Engineer. Minimum 2-year experience of working on EPC / EPCM projects in Oil / Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical & Fertilizer industries.

    Key Competencies

    Functional)

  • Work experience in executing EPC / EPCM projects
  • AWS or CSWIP certification
  • NDE Level – II as per ASNT SNT-TC-1A
  • ISO 9001 certification will be an added advantage.
