Job Title : Consultant Geneticist

Job Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geneticist with over 7 years of post-MD experience to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing and treating genetic disorders, providing expert genetic counseling, and contributing to cutting-edge research in the field of genetics.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide comprehensive genetic counseling to patients and families regarding inherited conditions and genetic disorders.
Diagnose genetic conditions through patient evaluations, clinical testing, and genetic analysis.
Interpret and explain genetic test results to patients and referring physicians.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on genetic information and patient history.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists in pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, and obstetrics, to provide integrated care.
Conduct genetic research and contribute to advancements in the field of genetics.
Stay updated on the latest research, developments, and best practices in genetics and genomics.
Mentor junior geneticists and provide training and guidance in clinical practices and genetic testing methodologies.
Participate in and contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and educational seminars.

Qualifications & Experience :

MD in Genetics (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.

Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience post-MD, specializing in genetics.

Strong experience in genetic counseling, clinical genetics, and molecular diagnostics.

Expertise in interpreting genetic test results and developing personalized treatment strategies.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach.

Proven track record in research and a deep understanding of genetic technologies.

Certification and membership in relevant genetic associations are preferred.

Skills :

In-depth knowledge of genetic disorders and their management.

Expertise in genetic testing techniques and technologies, including next-generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics.

Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.

Ability to deliver clear and concise genetic counseling to patients.

Proficiency in managing and analyzing large sets of genetic data.
