Overview of Applications Team :

The Applications Team at Silicon Labs which is spread across different geographical locations, focuses on improving the overall customer support and experience of the Silicon Labs IoT products. The IoT products supports a variety of all the wireless protocols (BLE, Bluetooth Mesh, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, OpenThread, Wi-Sun, Z-Wave, and proprietary protocols) and 32-bit microcontroller (MCU) software required to build end products for the IoT Market. Silicon Labs Applications Team works closely with the engineering teams to ensure a deep understanding of the product, features, and system functionality. The Applications team enables the customers by providing technical support on the products for their use cases.

Challenges you will solve :

  • Work closely with the engineering teams to debug customer reported issues
  • Emulate customer environments by working closely with the sales team and field application engineers in supporting customer’s needs and debugging customer’s problems

Responsibilities :

  • Closely work with customers and enable them with technical support for their use cases
  • Investigate and understand complex new features by reading the documentation, discussing with development, and designing sample applications
  • Required Skills :

  • Knowledge of and experience working with analog (ADC, comparator, etc.) and digital (timers, PWM, etc.) MCU peripherals
  • Working knowledge of bootloaders
  • Development experience with bare-metal embedded C
  • Understanding of and experience with communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, etc.
  • Understanding of and experience working with clock management systems and energy management systems
  • Excellent microcontroller debugging skills - Experience with debugging tools, including but not limited to oscilloscopes, power analyzers, digital logic analyzers, digital multimeters, etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Work experience with Zephyr and FreeRTOS
  • Experience with salesforce, task management, and bug-tracking systems such as Jira
  • Ability to review schematics and layout designs
  • Prior experience with customer support
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering or related degree
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with embedded systems development (including hardware and firmware)
