Position Overview

We’re seeking a motivated Data Science Intern to join our dynamic team. You’ll work alongside seasoned data scientists and finance professionals to analyze market trends, build predictive models, and contribute to real-world investment strategies. This role is perfect for someone eager to bridge the gap between data science and finance while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Modeling : Clean, preprocess, and analyze large financial datasets (market data, economic indicators, etc.).
  • Algorithm Development : Assist in building and optimizing machine learning models for portfolio optimization, risk assessment, and trend prediction.
  • Insight Generation : Use statistical techniques to identify patterns and generate actionable insights for investment strategies.
  • Collaboration : Work with cross-functional teams (quant researchers, developers, traders) to deploy data-driven solutions.
  • Visualization & Reporting : Create dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance , or a related field (Bachelor’s / Master’s / PhD).
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and / or R; familiarity with SQL.
  • Basic understanding of machine learning (regression, classification, time-series analysis).
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
  • Curiosity about financial markets and quantitative finance.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with financial datasets (Bloomberg, CRSP, etc.) or tools like TensorFlow / PyTorch
  • Knowledge of big data tools (Spark, Hadoop) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and software development best practices.
  • A GitHub portfolio or project demonstrating data science / ML work.
