In our R&D group, you'll be leading the design, development, and testing of the Truss instrument development toolkit for several high-tech products like Signal generators and Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc., which are widely used in the industry and are very critical to the success of Keysight. Electrical / Electronics Engineers at our site work on several software and hardware products. These range from complete software tools like Software Design and Development, EDA tools, Firmware designs for instruments, and CAD applications for hardware components. Experienced R&D Visualization Specialist & UX Designer Looking for a challenging role in visualization and UX design? You will have a key role in visualization design for next-generation products and solutions. As part of a central engineering team, you will lead design activities to ensure a positive user experience with highly capable and complex products for engineering customers. Responsibilities Responsibilities As a thought leader in effective Visualization, you will have a broad sphere of influence and responsibility. You will lead collaborative, strategically important / high visibility UX design projects across the company with emphasis on effective visualization. As a visualization design consultant, you will direct teams towards an effective visualization design. In cases where none of the existing visualization guidelines apply, you will propose new designs that will empower customers to be more effective. Your designs will require you to understand and propose data transformations and aggregations. As a user interface designer, you will perform user research, persona development, mental model, and task flow analysis for new products. You will create new UI designs from early concepts and wireframes through completion including design of UI navigation and information architecture, UI patterns, interactions, UX documentation, and high-fidelity prototypes that will follow a given framework and standard UI theming. You will design for usability, making complex tasks and workflows more intuitive and efficient. Designs must fulfill human factors, usability, and functional requirements, and meet visual design and UI standards. As an interaction design researcher, you will create interactive UI prototypes for important workflows and usability evaluation and prototype novel ways of presenting information to bring insight to customers from Keysight measurement results and other data. Nice to have : As a usability engineer you will plan and conduct UI concept reviews, walkthroughs, and usability evaluations in an iterative design process. You will plan and conduct usability tests and provide reports with actionable recommendations. Qualifications Education PhD degree (preferred) or equivalent training and experience in Usability Engineering, Human Computer Interaction or Cognitive Psychology, with specialty in interactive Visualization and UX design. Qualifications and Experience 7 to 10+ years UX Design experience with user centered design of complex products and color visualization. Track record and portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX design, information design, and visualizations. Experience improving product usability, UX, or design for accessibility. Knowledge and expertise to lead team efforts for important / strategic visualization design projects. Experience planning, leading, and coordinating UX design and usability activities at a program level. Conviction to advocate for UX and Visualization best practices, usability, and accessibility. Aptitude for understanding customer use cases with leading-edge technology is required. UX design experience in high-tech industries is highly desirable. Knowledge of human information processing and user behavior to anticipate the impact of designs based on cognitive psychology and usability principles. In depth knowledge of human perception, visual system, and human information processing. Proficient with UI design wireframe and prototyping tools – such as Sketch, Zeplin, Axure, or Figma Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment of agile software development, negotiate priorities given project constraints, and provide reports with actionable recommendations.
