Overview

The team are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to form an integral part of our BT or WLAN protocol design. The team will work closely with the upper stack and systems. The Team plays a pivotal role in the developing complex protocol features for WLAN and BT. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across the engineering disciplines from high level software to low-level hardware. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Engineering.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Design and development of software for Bluetooth lower layer stack and or WLAN uCode
  • Analysis and support bug fixes during final stages of program to customers
  • Communication of status / bugs / issues to leads
  • Software and hardware debug of testing issues
  • Working with colleagues to optimize solutions
  • Working with other and leading team members to plan development, testing and maintenance work

Competencies

  • Familiar with Wi-Fi or / and BT specification link layer and profiles
  • Good understanding of hardware and familiar with Wi-Fi and / or Bluetooth sniffer tools, analysis of air traces and logs, usage of embedded debuggers
  • Excellent debugging and analytical abilities
  • Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
  • Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
  • Resourceful and able to solve problems through adapting technology and a solid understanding of product architecture
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work within a diverse team
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent
  • 8+ years’ experience in a relevant engineering role
  • Highly proficient in C programming skills
  • Experience developing for Bluetooth (Specification 5.3) and / or WLAN (IEEE 802.11) specification link layer and profiles
  • Solid understanding of hardware and experience using sniffer tools, analyzing air traces and logs, and usage of embedded debuggers.
  • Experience with system test, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of wireless product
  • Work experience with ASIC emulators is a plus and Python scripting is a bonus
  • No travel required
