Job Summary :

Qualification - Bachelors or Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics

Total Years of Experience

3+ years of experience in medical device R&D, with specific expertise in

ventilator or respiratory systems.

Mandatory experience in hospital environments or healthcare

companies, with exposure to clinical workflows or corporate healthcare projects.

Proven track record of working with sensors, control systems, and

microcontroller-based instrumentation.

Experience in supplier / vendor management and component sourcing.

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled R&D Engineer to join our team in developing cutting- edge ventilator solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory systems, instrumentation, medical device R&D, and vendor management, along with mandatory experience working in hospital or corporate settings.

Key Responsibilities :

Research and Development and Testing :

Coordinate in design, development, and testing of ventilator systems with a focus on functionality, reliability, and compliance.

Develop test cases for in-house testing, ensuring comprehensive evaluation of device functionality and safety.

Possess in-depth knowledge of ventilator testing environments and scenarios, ensuring safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance.

Coordinate and conduct pre-compliance testing with external agencies to secure certifications.

Experience with Y-sensor integration and feedback systems.

Background in user-centered design and human factors engineering for ICU devices.

Installation, Monitoring and Vendor Management :

Possess strong hardware and instrumentation knowledge, particularly in handling medical equipment with a focus on respiratory systems.

Troubleshoot issues at both the component and system levels, implementing design changes to enhance performance and resolve technical challenges.

Demonstrate expertise in hardware assembly, servicing, and instrumentation to ensure proper device functionality and performance.

Monitor ventilator performance during laboratory and clinical trials, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring continuous operation.

Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality

components and materials.

Ensure timely procurement of components and collaborate with vendors to address issues related to quality, supply chain, and technical support.

Oversee the installation and commissioning of ventilator prototypes and systems in testing and

operational environments.

Hospital, Clinical and Market Collaboration :

Work closely with hospitals, clinicians, and healthcare companies to understand requirements and gather feedback for product improvements.

Apply prior experience in hospital or corporate environments to enhance device design, usability, and performance.

Engage with clinicians to refine ventilator prototypes based on real-world needs and gather insights for innovation.

Benchmark against existing devices (e.g., Drager Evita XL, SAVIna 300) to ensure competitive advantages in design and functionality.

Skills :

Strong understanding of respiratory physiology and ventilatory mechanics.

Familiarity with medical device standards (ISO, IEC, CDSCO regulations).

Experience with component sourcing, supply chain coordination, and vendor management.
