Job Summary
The associate / sr. associate will support key operational functions including premium accounting, book roll activities, processing endorsement and underwriting for auto and home insurance across personal and commercial lines. This entry level position is ideal for candidate with 1 to 2 years (2+ years in case of Sr. Associates) of experience in US Property and Casualty insurance industry who are detail-oriented and eager to build their skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Premium Accounting
- Adjust and reallocate misapplied payments with accuracy and efficiency
- Apply payments accurately to ensure proper policy administration
- Set up and remove auto pay / EFT options for policyholders
- Change payment method such as converting from EFT to mortgage billing
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to company standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth processing
Book Roll
Support the transfer of an entire book of business from one agency to anotherVerify the accuracy of policy details and ensure that all data related to book of business is correct and up to date before initiating the ruleCross check policies within the book to identify and reconcile any discrepancies between the source and target systemMaintain thorough documentation of the book roll process including tracking any changes or updates made during the transferCollaborating with underwriting accounting and other relevant teams to ensure smooth and timely completion of book roll processEnter and update policy information in the appropriate systems during and after the book roll ensuring that all data is accurately reflectedEnsure that the book roll process adheres to all regulatory and company compliance standardsEndorsement
Accurately process endorsement requests for auto and home insurance policies including policy modifications coverage additions and other adjustments as requested by policyholders or agentsReview existing policies to ensure that requested endorsement comply with underwriting guidelines and company policiesVerify all necessary information before processing changesMaintain data integrity and accuracyEnsure that all endorsements are processed in accordance with regulatory requirement and company standards including adherence to state specific insurance lawsIdentify and resolve any discrepancy or issues that arise during endorsement processStay updated on changes in company policies procedure and industry regulation related to auto and home insurance endorsementsUnderwriting
Review and process New Business, Renewals and Endorsements requests per guidelinesVerify and update policy informationUpdate policy forms per underwriting toolkitGenerate experience mod reports and rating worksheetsFollow instructions in binders, including subjectivities and related activitiesReview incoming transactions and related information for completeness accuracy and qualityMulti-line new business submissions, renewal submissions and endorsements processing including rating, policy construction and assembly in a timely and accurate mannerUpdating underwriting files with additional information and / or policy documentsQualification and Skills
Qualification
Bachelor’s degreeTechnical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Typing speed of 30 WPM with 90% accuracyAnalytical Skills
Able to make decisions following the process guidelinesStrong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasksProcess Specific Skills
Good knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance domain is preferredSoft Skills (Minimum)
