What we do

We are experts in trading essentially all listed financial products and asset classes, with a focus on options trading. We handle millions of trading transactions around the world every day, providing liquidity and ensuring competitive prices for buyers and sellers. How? In this role you will :

Build and lead the operations and middle office team with a collaborative and consultative approach. Support the efficient running of the day to day operations of the trading desks from trade capture through to end of day position management, reconciliation and P&L reporting. The role requires an in depth understanding of financial instruments both listed and OTC especially equities, futures and equity derivatives. The successful candidate will be working with experienced traders in the financial sector. Knowing how to work directly with traders and having good working relationships is essential. The role will entail managing relationships with all our external stakeholders.

Team responsibilities include :

  • Daily P&L reporting and substantiation, reconciliation and daily management reporting of positions and valuations.
  • Operational support to trading desks.
  • Reconciliation of trading activity and position to external parties.
  • Liaison with external parties to resolve any position, cash, trading fee discrepancies.
  • Contribute to system improvement to help streamline and enhance daily processes and risk control framework.
  • Direct new initiatives and projects.
  • Collaboration with the finance team in treasury management and supporting the month end accounting process.
  • In conjunction with the compliance team ensure the risk control framework is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor market developments, proactively engage with stakeholders to develop the systems framework to support future growth opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Communication – leading and fostering a strong culture of engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders across the firm is essential.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years Experience in a similar role in a large scale business, ideally within trading firm / financial institution.
  • Experience leading a team as well as maintaining a hands on role.
  • Strong ability to motivate people, and be a trusted team player.
  • Be outcome focused, self-driven, with the ability to plan forward and anticipate / mitigate risks.
  • Thorough operational knowledge of Asian financial markets esp. equity and equity derivative products
  • Ability to build strong and positive relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to promote new ideas and a proven track record in driving continuous improvement to systems and process.
  • Courage to escalate issues where required.
  • Ability to prioritise initiatives based on materiality and risk considerations.
  • Analytical mindset and a hands on approach when tackling issues
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading teams with accountability for large revenue streams.
  • Demonstrated strong experience in building and maintaining stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving capability with strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the external environment across regulatory obligations as well as the global competitor and market landscape impacting client behaviour.
