Overview

An Automobile Consultant plays a crucial role in assisting customers with their automotive needs providing expert advice on vehicle selection and ensuring exceptional customer service. They are responsible for guiding customers through the process of purchasing or leasing a vehicle as well as offering support and advice on additional products and services. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive technology strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting the right vehicle based on their needs and preferences
  • Provide detailed information about vehicle features specifications and pricing
  • Guide customers through the vehicle purchasing or leasing process
  • Discuss financing options warranties and additional products or services
  • Conduct test drives and demonstrate vehicle capabilities
  • Negotiate pricing and tradein values
  • Coordinate with sales and finance teams to ensure a smooth transaction process
  • Follow up with customers to maintain relationships and address any concerns
  • Stay updated on automotive industry trends new models and competitor offerings
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop promotional strategies
  • Attend training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Handle administrative tasks related to vehicle sales and customer documentation
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and efficient manner
  • Participate in dealership events and promotions to attract new customers
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and customer satisfaction goals

Required qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Automotive Technology or related field
  • Proven experience in automotive sales customer service or related role
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle makes models and options
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and competitive sales environment
  • Familiarity with financing and leasing processes
  • Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Driven selfmotivated and resultoriented mindset
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer preferences
  • Professional appearance and conduct
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Relevant sales certifications or training is a plus
