Job Summary :

This is a Residential Mortgage Underwriting process which involves a complete analysis of the loan parameters and the borrowers’ details pertaining to Income, credit and assets.

Candidate shall be responsible for managing a team of underwriters and senior underwriters, ensuring on-time and quality of deliverables. Communicate decisions that most effectively mitigate credit risks, including data integrity and validity of information submitted. Applies understanding of established guidelines, Fair Lending and all other regulatory requirements while utilizing prudent underwriting judgment and experience.

Responsibilities :

Ensure SLA adherence for all metrics

Guide the team towards the operational excellence

Provide the functional trainings to team

Maintain the Quality bench marks for deliverables

Handling client escalations & implementing preventive actions

Manage the flow of day-to-day operations

MIS & Reporting

Handles complex borrower escalations utilizing knowledge of specialized loan products

Should be able to suggest process re-engineering and improvement solutions.

Own and manage the team members’ performance, issues, concerns

Skills Required :

Excellent reading and comprehension skills.

Excellent decision-making skills that are backed by relevant details and research.

Good analytical and audit skills.

Good oral and written communication skills along with good listening skills

Knowledge pertaining to the regulations governing mortgage lending.

Logical and reasoning skills

Ability to multitask. Must pay close attention to detail

Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on deliverables and high quality

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in any discipline.

5 to 7 years of overall banking experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in residential Mortgage Underwriting for Conventional / FHA / VA loans of which 1 year should have been in a Team Leader capacity

Demonstrated leadership experience

Willingness to work in night shifts is a must.
