Job Overview
We are looking for a Microsoft 365 Maintenance Specialist (Level 1) who can maintain and optimize client environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace and be able to recommend improvements based on best practices. Strong communication skills for US-based clients are a must.

Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive for Business, Security and Compliance practices).
Evaluate and improve security settings (MFA, DLP, Defender for Office 365).
Review and configure Microsoft 365 policies to enhance security and usability.
Provide basic Intune and device management support.
Assist clients with best practice recommendations to optimize their Microsoft 365 experience.
Communicate effectively with US-based clients, providing clear guidance and professional support.
Keep up to date with recent Microsoft feature rollouts and come up with service improvements in maintenance program.
Qualifications and Skills
Exchange Online / OneDrive for Business / SharePoint Online / Microsoft Teams should be able to create, modify, and manage users, groups, and licensing in Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Entra ID (Azure AD). Basic Exchange Online administration is required, including managing mailboxes, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, and troubleshooting email delivery issues. Experience with SharePoint Online / OneDrive is important, including understanding permissions, file sharing settings, and security policies. The candidate should also have familiarity with Microsoft Teams administration, such as configuring policies, managing channels, guest access, and meeting settings.
Security & Compliance
A solid understanding of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is necessary, including enabling, enforcing, and troubleshooting MFA-related issues in Microsoft Entra ID. The candidate should be able to review and configure security policies in Microsoft Defender for Office 365, such as phishing protection and Safe Links / Safe Attachments. Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies for Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive is also essential. Basic knowledge of email authentication protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is required to help secure and protect mail flow.
Google Workspace management
The candidate should understand the core services of Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Groups, and Google Calendar. They should have a basic understanding of managing a client Google Workspace environment in line with modern security requirements.
Device & Endpoint Management
A working knowledge of Microsoft Intune is needed, including device enrollment, compliance policies, and remote wipe capabilities. The candidate should be familiar with Intune and Azure AD Join, understanding how devices register with Microsoft 365 for security and management. Basic configuration and policy setup for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is a plus.
PowerShell & Automation
Familiarity with PowerShell commands for Microsoft 365 administration is a must. This includes retrieving user and group information, resetting passwords, and managing mailbox settings. The candidate should be comfortable following scripts for bulk user updates and automation.
Education and Experience Requirements
2-3 years of experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
Microsoft certifications such as MS-900, MS-102, AZ-900, or MD-102 would be beneficial
knowledge of third-party email security and backup solutions for Microsoft 365, such as Veeam, Barracuda, or AvePoint
Prior experience working in an MSP.
