Job Title : Associate Category Manager

Job Summary :

The Associate Category Manager will assist in managing product categories to drive business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role involves analyzing data, developing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and has a passion for retail, e-commerce, or category management.

Key Responsibilities :

Category Strategy and Planning :

Support the development and execution of category strategies to achieve sales, margin, and market share goals.

Assist in identifying market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for growth.

Product and Assortment Management :

Work with suppliers and internal teams to maintain and optimize product assortment.

Collaborate to ensure product availability, analyze performance, and recommend changes as needed.

Data Analysis and Reporting :

Analyze sales, inventory, and market data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Prepare reports and presentations to track performance metrics, trends, and forecasts.

Pricing and Promotions :

Support the development of pricing strategies to maximize profitability and competitiveness.

Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute category promotions and campaigns.

Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration :

Assist in managing vendor relationships, negotiations, and agreements.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders (marketing, supply chain, operations) to achieve category objectives.

Operational Execution :

Ensure smooth day-to-day operations for assigned categories.

Troubleshoot issues related to inventory, pricing, or product placement as needed.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

1-3 years of experience in category management, merchandising, buying, or a related field.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with retail, e-commerce, or FMCG is a plus.
