The Senior Business Analyst, Sales Intelligence & Analytics will join the Data, Tools and Reporting Operations Team – a newly built team that is responsible for developing the revenue intelligence infrastructure for Cision globally by enhancing and maintaining our BI platform, building reports and dashboards, overseeing and assuring hygiene of Sales-related data, developing data and analytic programs and supporting the business in data analysis. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for close collaboration with leaders across the organization to drive the development and adoption of our BI platform Domo, build and expand our KPI frameworks, gather requirements for projects related to our intelligence infrastructure, and translates those requirements into technical specifications for report writers, SQL developers and data engineers. While the focus of the Senior Business Analyst is placed on collaboration and development of our KPI framework, they also need to technical to understand our data infrastructure end-to-end, drive efficient collaboration with data engineers, and build reports and dashboards by themselves if the need arises. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver results, take ownership of work and outputs, find a way to work through barriers, and work efficiently. We’re looking for someone to think analytically about the business, have a critical eye for detail, and have high expectations and standards. This is a fast-paced and evolving commercial environment that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task and work towards a deadline. ResponsibilitiesSupport organizational decision-making with data-driven insightsCreate and define metrics for the business, specific regions and teamsWork closely with business stakeholders to gather business requirements, translate them into technical specification and oversee implementationProvide technical expertise and best practice to support and guide the business in the use of dataReview and optimize data quality – identify and resolve data issues and consult on new processes and methods to correct at sourceReporting ResponsibilitiesReport on KPIs to measure performance for the business, specific regions and teamsWork across regional and global Sales, Marketing, FP&A, Product and Customer Success functions to deliver reporting, insights and recommendationsDesign, build and maintain high-quality dashboards, KPIs and visualisations on our BI platform DomoLiaise and support the report building team in design and delivery of dashboards and reportsHelp maintain the reporting and analytics infrastructure in our BI platform to help support business decisions and team managementOther Key Responsibilities Act as regional point of contact for the Data, Tools and Reporting Operations team, evaluate and document requestsEstablish and document standardized processes and best practices within DomoConduct training sessions for end-users on Domo functionalitiesIdentify system inefficiencies / gaps, troubleshoot operational issues, and explore opportunities for updatesWork with the SQL developer or data engineer on new builds, existing iteration and refactoringWork with the SQL developer and report analyst on the administration and maintenance of DomoImplement and monitor data quality checks and ensure data accuracyEstablish processes for identifying and addressing data quality issues QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree or an MBA can be advantageous.Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a related field, ideally in B2B SaaSExperienced in stakeholder management and stakeholder communicationsExperience with data visualisation tools to create reports and dashboards, able to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise mannerEffective planning and organizational skillsProficient in decision-making, analysis, and problem-solving, with the ability to multitaskExperience working in a highly collaborative, dynamic, and team-oriented work environmentHigh level of general technical understandingUnderstanding of best practice business processesEasily adopts to new technology Problem solving capabilities, attention to detail, data handling skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, internal customers, high-level staff and external vendors, strong customer service orientation, good writing skills, ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiencesUnderstanding of user experienceExperience of working with large volumes of dataExperience training and supporting usersKnowledge of scripting languages (e.g., SQL) preferredExperience with Salesforce preferredProficient in MS Office (primarily Excel)Knowlege of Domo is a bonus but not requiredHybrid schedule 2-3 days a week in our Chicago office.
