This position is based out of our Technology Center in Bangaluru, Karnataka, India.

The Lead Safety and Security Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the daily operations in the Wayfair Technology Center in Bangaluru India.  The position will plan, coordinate and resource appropriate supplies, training and policies to prevent and mitigate risks from threats and injuries.  This individual will be part of a dynamic team whose mission is to provide world class support to our partners. In addition, the individual will work on building and expanding the safety and security program and supporting the Global Safety and Security Team at Wayfair.

What You’ll Do

  • Be an experienced leader who leads from the front and sets the example with the highest standards of discipline and professionalism
  • Partner with the Global Safety and Security Field Operations and the Safety Compliance and Standards Teams to support in in executing Global Safety and Security initiatives
  • Perform daily functions of the lead officer by monitoring alarms, access control, CCTV and  events that may impact Wayfair’s operations and assets.
  • Review, analyze, and escalate issues to help mitigate threats to Wayfair's employees, property, and partners in Bangaluru and other sites across the globe
  • Build and lead a safety and security program to ensure fully trained security coverage 24 / 7
  • Coordinate responses to incidents or crisis events that occur or could potentially impact Wayfair’s operations
  • Perform key duties and be the key point of contact for first responders in the event of an emergency
  • Maintain detailed records of communications and events, including incident tracking and case management
  • Maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, industry security and life safety professionals, vendors, and suppliers
  • Manage and handle sensitive incidents while maintaining the company’s and affected individual's confidentiality
  • Manage a group of Corporate Security Officers and coverage schedules to support hours of operations at Wayfair’s Technology Center in Bangaluru.  Remote support to locations in Vietnam, Malaysia, and China.
  • Occasional travel to, but not limited to the United States, Europe, Vietnam, Malaysia, China.

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of experience working in a safety and security function, preferably in a physical security role or setting (either government or private sector)
  • Ability to work in a flexible schedule environment
  • Familiarity with access management technologies such as Lenel and Google Suite
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment, think through problems, and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Must have the ability to communicate both written and orally with applicable stakeholders and represent Wayfair to external parties such as law enforcement
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong decision-making ability during both crisis and non-crisis situations
  • Must be able to stand and or walk in a variety of weather and terrain conditions for shifts up to 10 hours
  • Must be able to lift and hold 15 pounds.
  • Be able to work effectively in office and outdoor environments with hot and cold conditions, as well as loud noises
  • Ability to travel within your assigned area of responsibility. Occasional overnight travel may be required as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to Malaysia, Vietnam, and China.
