Job Summary :
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Assistant to join our Publication Department. The role involves supporting the editorial team in producing high-quality publications, managing administrative tasks, coordinating communication, and ensuring smooth workflow within the department. Key Responsibilities :
- Content Management :
- Assist in managing content submissions, tracking deadlines, and maintaining publication schedules.
- Support the editorial team with proofreading, formatting, and minor editing tasks as needed.
- Ensure content adheres to the company’s style guide and editorial standards.
- Administrative Support :
- Organize and maintain files, databases, and archives related to publications.
- Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and handle correspondence for the publication team.
- Coordinate with external contributors, writers, and vendors (e.g., designers, printers).
- Project Coordination :
- Assist in the planning and execution of publication projects from concept to delivery.
- Track project milestones and provide status updates to the team.
- Liaise with other departments such as marketing, sales, and production to ensure alignment and timely publication.
- Communication :
- Serve as a point of contact for queries related to ongoing publications and projects.
- Coordinate communication between the publication team and external stakeholders.
- Digital Support :
- Assist in uploading and updating content on the company’s website and digital platforms.
- Help with managing social media content related to publications.
- Other Duties :
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Publication or Senior Editor.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.Previous experience in publishing, media, or editorial roles is preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with content management systems.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external stakeholders.Preferred Skills :
Experience with editing and proofreading.Knowledge of design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop) is a plus.Basic understanding of SEO and digital content strategy.Working Conditions :
This position may require occasional travel to industry events or meetings.Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
