The Garments Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination between the design production and sales teams in the garment manufacturing process. This role involves managing product lines from the initial design concept to delivery while ensuring that products are produced on time meet quality standards and align with client specifications. The Merchandiser will work with suppliers buyers and production teams to maintain optimal product flow and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Development & Sampling :
Collaborate with the design and production teams to create seasonal collections and ensure that designs align with market trends.
Material and Fabric Sourcing :
Identify and select appropriate materials fabrics and trims that meet the quality standards and cost constraints of the collection.
Production Planning and Coordination :
Work with the production team to create detailed production timelines for each garment order.
Vendor and Supplier Management :
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure efficient procurement of materials and production services.
Costing and Budgeting :
Work with the finance and production teams to ensure accurate costing for each product taking into account materials labor and overhead costs.
Order Management and Delivery :
Handle orders from clients and ensure that products are delivered on time.
Quality Control and Assurance :
Monitor the quality of finished garments ensuring they meet the companys standards and customer expectations.
Market and Trend Analysis :
Stay updated on fashion trends competitor activity and consumer preferences to inform the design and manufacturing process.
Client and Customer Communication :
Act as the point of contact for clients ensuring their requirements are met and that they are informed of the status of their orders.
Documentation and Reporting :
Prepare and maintain detailed records of orders production schedules costs and delivery timelines.
