We are a fast-growing small business in the seed industry, transitioning from traditional processes to a tech-enabled future. As our company scales, we’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Technology Specialist to lead this transformation, build technical tools, and create scalable solutions to support long-term growth.

This role requires a hands-on leader —someone who can strategize, execute, and work collaboratively as a team member while building and leading our IT infrastructure from scratch.

What Are We Looking For?

We need a CTS who can :

  • Build and implement technical tools for communication, business processes, and project management.
  • Oversee website development , CRM creation, and tools for employee productivity and training.
  • Lead the transition from traditional workflows to tech-enabled operations , creating scalable systems for the company’s needs.
  • Train employees on essential tools like CRM, HR software, and project management platforms.
  • Build and lead a tech team phase-by-phase while working as an active member of the team.
  • Manage full-stack development projects , ensuring technical excellence.
  • Develop handbooks and resources for technical training and ensure employees are empowered with the right tools.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Build and Lead IT Systems

  • Develop technical tools for business communication , such as business email systems, CRM platforms, and HR tools.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of the company’s IT infrastructure .
  • Create a scalable framework for technical processes to support growth and efficiency.
  • 2. Oversee Full-Stack Development

  • Lead website development and internal software projects.
  • Manage front-end and back-end development processes to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Work with stakeholders to define and execute project requirements.
  • 3. Drive the Transition to Tech-Enabled Operations

  • Assess current traditional workflows and identify areas for technological improvement.
  • Build and implement systems for project management, communication, and collaboration.
  • Provide training and support to employees on new tools and processes.
  • 4. Team Building and Leadership

  • Recruit and mentor tech team members as the company grows.
  • Lead by example, working alongside team members while providing strategic direction.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that supports innovation and excellence.
  • 5. Develop Training Resources

  • Create handbooks, technical guides, and resources to upskill employees on essential tools and processes.
  • Ensure all employees are equipped with the knowledge to use systems effectively.
  • Required Skills and Expertise :

  • Experience : 5+ years in IT leadership roles, with experience building systems from scratch for growing businesses.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Strong knowledge of full-stack development (front-end and back-end technologies).
  • Expertise in CRM platforms , business email systems, and project management tools.
  • Proficiency in website development and IT infrastructure setup.
  • Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead teams while working hands-on to execute projects.
  • Problem-Solving : Adaptable and action-oriented, with the ability to identify gaps and implement solutions.
  • Training Expertise : Experience in creating resources and training employees on new tools and systems.
