Job Description :
The ITOM CMDB Delivery Specialist is responsible for managing the implementation and optimization of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the IT Operations Management (ITOM) framework. This role involves overseeing the design, development, configuration, and deployment of CMDB solutions, ensuring they align with business goals and IT service management (ITSM) best practices. The specialist will work closely with IT teams to ensure accurate configuration management and effective service Responsibilities :
CMDB Implementation & Management :
- Lead the planning, implementation, and delivery of the CMDB solution to meet business and technical requirements.
- Define, maintain, and enforce CMDB processes and governance for managing configuration items (CIs).
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for CMDB structure, workflows, and integration with other ITOM tools (such as Incident Management, Change Management, and Service Governance & Quality Assurance :
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data within the CMDB.
- Perform regular audits and updates of the CMDB to ensure it remains aligned with infrastructure and service changes.
- Establish data quality standards and work with teams to improve data Item (CI) Modeling :
- Develop and manage a robust CI model, ensuring that each CI reflects the underlying IT services and infrastructure.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure the model accurately represents the with ITOM Tools :
- Collaborate with other ITOM teams to integrate the CMDB with relevant IT tools, such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or similar platforms.
- Ensure proper configuration of data sources and automated population of & Reporting :
- Create detailed documentation, including process workflows, integration diagrams, and training materials for end-users.
- Provide regular reports on CMDB status, data quality, and performance to and Release Management :
- Work closely with Change and Release Management teams to ensure that changes to CIs are tracked and documented properly within the CMDB.
- Assist in the development of processes for CI versioning and & Support :
- Provide training and support to stakeholders in the use of the CMDB and associated processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for CMDB-related queries and & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 7 years of experience in ITOM, CMDB management, or IT service management.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, especially Configuration Management, Change Management, and Service Asset & Configuration Management Skills :
- Proficiency in CMDB platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or similar tools).
- Experience with database design, data modeling, and integrating multiple IT systems.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and application components to effectively map CIs.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and automation techniques to manage data flows.
