Factory Manager will be the central to the operational success of the facility. Primarily while over-seeing the day-to-day operations core role will be being the backbone of strategy, efficiency, and team leadership within the factory setting. Main duties would encompass a wide range of activities-from managing and optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, to maintaining strict cost controls and upholding safety standards. Each responsibility is crucial as it directly impacts the factory's ability to function effectively, meet production deadlines, optimization of manpower and machine costs and achieve financial targets while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Previous proven experience working as Factory Manager or Leadership Role in ice cream and frozen desserts or packaged food set will be preferred. This position will play a crucial role in leading and managing a diverse team of production, quality, procurement, supply chain managers, executive, supervisors and labour force from a food tech qualification and production background.

Job Role and KRA : -

1) Production Planning & Execution

a. Monitor production schedules and optimize resources to maintain efficiency and minimize downtime.

b. Analyze production metrics to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective measures.

2) Facility and Equipment Oversight

a. Ensure compliance with environmental standards, including waste management and energy efficiency practices.

b. Conduct regular facility inspections to uphold hygiene, safety, and operational excellence.

3) Cross-Functional Collaboration

a. Be the core leader for all the core functional activities across factory departments viz production, prep kitchen, quality, stores, maintenance, procurement, supply chain and warehouse team to align production capacity with demand planning and inventory requirements.

4) Compliance & Risk Management

a. Develop risk management protocols, including contingency plans for supply disruptions and peak production periods.

5) Team Leadership & Training

a. Recruit, train, and manage highly efficient team at factory across departments

b. Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

c. Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear KPIs, and provide opportunities for professional development to factory team.

d. Ensuring that factory staff and team is trained well on safety, sanitation, and operational best practices to maintain high standards.

6) Strategic Planning & Financial Management

a. Develop long-term production strategies to support business growth and market expansion.

b. Manage budgets for production, procurement, labor, and facility operations, ensuring cost efficiency.

c. Monitor key financial metrics and implement measures to improve profitability.

d. Provide data-driven insights to inform decisions on capacity expansion, resource allocation, and product innovation.

Qualifications and Key Competencies : -

  • Experience : Minimum of 10-15 years in large-scale food production, at least 5 years in ice cream or baked goods manufacturing in a leadership role will be add on advantage.
  • Technical Expertise : Deep understanding of production processes, equipment, and materials specific to food, ice cream and baked goods.
  • Education : Degree in culinary arts, food technology, production management, or related fields.
  • Regulatory Knowledge : Expertise in food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO requirements.
  • Operational Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in production planning and optimizing workflows.
  • Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Operational Expertise : Skilled in managing production workflows, procurement, and facility operations.
  • Strategic Vision : Capable of aligning production and procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Adaptability : Proven ability to manage high-pressure operations, including day / night shifts during busy periods.
  • Software & Tool Management : - Experience in managing Inventory on ERP / Software and able to generate reports and derive analytical conclusion.
  • Communication : - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information, instructions, and feedback to team members.
  • Work Time : - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support production schedules and special events.
