Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VSAT Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. With 7+ years of expertise in VSAT platforms and satellite communication systems, you will provide critical technical leadership in the development and enhancement of our MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) and GEO (Geostationary Orbit) platforms and modem systems. This role is instrumental in translating innovative product initiatives into reality, ensuring system integrity throughout the lifecycle, and collaborating with vendors to deliver high-availability and reliable satellite communication solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Platform & Modem Development Requirements : Take technical leadership in developing detailed requirements for MEO and GEO platforms and modem systems, directly derived from new product definitions.
• Product & Innovation Support : Provide essential technical support to the Product and Innovation teams, actively translating innovative product initiatives into tangible, implementable solutions.
• Vendor Engagement & Compliance : Engage directly with partner vendors of MEO and GEO platforms and modems to ensure their systems rigorously fulfill product requirements and comply with our broader ecosystem standards.
• Test Plan Development & Validation : Develop comprehensive test plans to support the thorough validation of MEO and GEO platforms and modems, ensuring they meet all technical, functional, performance, and business requirements.
• System Testing & Validation : Perform hands-on testing and validation of vendor-provided systems within our ecosystem to guarantee high availability and reliability of these crucial systems.
• Operations Handover Documentation : Create clear and detailed operations handover documentation, specifically describing network configurations, commissioning procedures, troubleshooting guides, and CONOPS (Concept of Operations).
• New Product Deployment : Lead the deployment of new product developments into existing MEO and GEO platforms and modem systems.
• Platform Expansions : Manage the deployment of MEO and GEO platform and modem expansions to scale our network capabilities.
• Network Solution Validation : Validate that other platform solutions operate seamlessly and efficiently within our worldwide network infrastructure.
• Lab System Deployment & Testing : Deploy ground systems in a lab environment, execute detailed test plans, and generate comprehensive test reports.
• Test Tool Evaluation : Evaluate and recommend third-party test tools to enhance our system test efforts and improve efficiency.
• Defect & Bug Resolution : Drive the technical resolution of defects and bugs with our partner vendors, ensuring timely and effective fixes.
• Software Upgrades & Configuration Changes : Deploy platform and modem software upgrades and manage major configuration changes across the systems.
• Operational Technical Support : Provide direct technical support to our operational team, assisting with complex issues and system challenges.
• Training & Knowledge Sharing : Provide training and support as required to other technical staff and actively support a community of practice around platform development across the & Experience :
