Responsibilities
- Visit job sites to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials
- Evaluate, assess and alter safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and clients
- Research and implement new materials handling processes
- Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts
- Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees and vendors
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Research environmental regulations and policies and institute changes to ensure compliance
- Track incident metrics and apply findings
- Oversee the applications for and receipt of necessary permits
- Lead injury and incident inquiries and evaluations
- Review of site conditions and understand works to be to carried out
- Prepare H&S Plan
- Prepare Risk Assessments (RA) and Method Statements (MS)
- Conduct training / tool box talks / inductions for safety
- Maintain record of the above
- Maintain record of safe man hours, near misses and incidents
- Verify at site if the safety requirements are being adhered to in accordance with the H&S Plan, RA and MS. If not, effect necessary action including stopping of work if deemed required
- Investigate any accidents / incidents that occur and prepare report with remedial actions
- Ensure that the emergency exits and signage are maintained at site
- Conduct random checks with the workers for their knowledge on safety
- Conduct safety meetings on a weekly basis to review actions and plan for the following week
- Lock out Tag out (LOTO)
Qualifications Required
A bachelor’s degree or an associate degree.Strong communication skills.12-15 years' experience.
