The Job Description
Sales Engineer reports to Manager
The overall responsibilities are :
- Generate enquiries and follow up on existing customers
- Do the initial groundwork for discussions on sales
- Gain thorough product knowledge
- Responsible for achieving sales target set by management
- Present the product and sell
- Visit new customers and prospect for new business
- Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
- Has to travel and be on the move
- Liaising with principals to check on the progress of existing orders
- Checking quantities of goods on display and in stock
- Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales coordinator
- Reporting back to product / senior managers
- Maintaining case files and paperwork with admin support
- Work well in a team
- Work within parameters set by the Company
- Representing the organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
- Maintaining detailed knowledge of the company’s products or services
