Job Description
Requirements
1. Supervision of Housekeeping Staff
Assign daily tasks to cleaners for common areas (lobbies, corridors, lifts, staircases, restrooms, etc.).
Oversee the quality of cleaning and sanitation work.
Monitor staff performance and attendance.
Train new and existing staff in cleaning procedures, chemical use, and safety practices.
2. Use and Handling of Cleaning Chemicals
Ensure the correct use of cleaning agents for various surfaces (e.g., tiles, glass, wood, stainless steel).
Train staff on the safe dilution and application of chemicals as per manufacturer instructions.
Make sure all cleaning products are properly labeled and stored in designated chemical storage areas.
Monitor the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used.
Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and aprons while handling chemicals.
3. Cleaning and Maintenance of Common Areas
Ensure regular cleaning of :
Entrances and lobbies
Hallways and stairwells
Lifts and elevator panels
Restrooms
Waste disposal and garbage areas
Recreational areas (gym, swimming pool, clubhouse)
Supervise deep cleaning activities using appropriate chemicals (e.g., degreasers, disinfectants, floor strippers).
4. Inventory and Chemical Stock Management
Maintain stock levels of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Keep accurate records of chemical usage and reordering schedules.
Inspect and approve chemical deliveries to ensure quality and compliance.
Prevent misuse or overuse of chemicals to control cost and reduce health risks.
5. Waste Management
Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste.
Oversee the cleaning and sanitization of waste bins and garbage areas.
Coordinate with municipal or third-party waste services.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
Conduct regular safety audits to ensure safe chemical handling practices.
Organize periodic fire drills and chemical safety workshops for the team.
Ensure staff knows emergency procedures in case of chemical spills or accidents.
Report any safety hazards to the building management.
7. Communication and Complaint Handling
Act as a point of contact for residents regarding cleanliness issues.
Respond quickly to any complaints related to cleaning standards or chemical odors.
Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with residents.
