Job descriptionAnalyze business and data requirements to develop comprehensive ETL test strategies and plans. Design, develop, and execute ETL test cases and scenarios to validate data transformation logic and workflows. Validate data movement from source systems to data warehouses / lakes using tools and SQL queries. Perform data validation and data reconciliation testing across multiple sources and targets. Work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Developers to understand requirements and ensure data quality. Identify, document, and track defects to resolution. Ensure testing coverage for performance, data accuracy, data consistency, and edge case scenarios. Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to sprint deliverables. Generate test summary reports and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and production deployments. Recommend improvements in automation, processes, and testing strategies to enhance quality and efficiency. Strong knowledge of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and BI architectures. Proficiency in SQL ability to write complex queries, joins, aggregations, and validations. Hands-on experience in testing Azure Synapse Analytics, data pipelines, and cloud-based data platforms. Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and working in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Ability to analyze large data sets and identify patterns, inconsistencies, or errors. Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Azure DevOps is a plus. Experience in test automation for ETL processes (using tools like Python, PySpark, or SSIS automation) is an added advantage. Excellent communication skills ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or similar ETL tools is a plus. Exposure to CI / CD pipelines and automated deployment in cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SQL, Azure Synapse, and Agile methodologies.
