Overview of the Role

As an Assistant Manager-Horticulture , you are responsible for managing multiple corporate clients for their Plant Care Services. This will include hiring, training, leading, and developing a team of Plant Care Supervisors, Plant Care Staff, and other operations teams to run the landscape maintenance operations smoothly in the given geography. Major accountability will include top-quality interior landscape maintenance, meeting all service deliverables, and the highest level of client satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Team Leadership and Oversight : Directly manage and supervise a team of 50-60 gardeners. Have a direct reporting line for 3-4 supervisors.

Plant Species Selection and Recommendations : Identify and recommend suitable plant species based on local climate conditions, maintenance requirements, and aesthetic preferences.

Softscape Maintenance Oversight : Actively engage in softscape maintenance, overseeing the nurturing and care of planted areas to ensure optimal growth and development. ∙ On-Site Visits and Progress Monitoring : Conduct frequent on-site visits & inspections to monitor progress, address challenges, and ensure adherence to design specifications. ∙ Supervision and Management of Daily Operations : Manage daily landscape maintenance operations of Supervisors and Plant Care Staff. Daily travel through the territory visiting clients, and assisting Supervisors, and Plant Care staff.

Nutrition and Fertilization Schedule : Guide Plant Care team for Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly plant nutrition / fertilization schedule. Provide special attention towards plant cleaning, pruning, watering, and plant rotation as required.

Coordination with Internal Stakeholders & Clients : Maintain strong coordination with internal stakeholders like Nursery, Administration, Finance, and HR for smooth functioning of operations and billing. Achieve a high level of client satisfaction for Plant Maintenance Services. ∙ Replacement : Schedule replacement activity for damaged plant within TAT.

Key Qualifications

Bachelors / Masters degree in Horticulture / Floriculture / Landscaping

Minimum of 3+ Years’ experience in Landscape Maintenance Services

Team handling experience is desirable

Good knowledge of Indoor Plants & its maintenance is a must

Proficient in hiring, training & mentoring Plant Care Supervisors & Staff

Proficient in using MS Excel / Word / PowerPoint

Good written as well as verbal communication skills
