Role Summary
The Technical Lead is responsible and accountable for the process mechanical engineering and coordinating design activities of conventional water and wastewater systems.
Job Description
Have basic understanding of P&ID and is able to read heat and mass balance diagrams.
Has basic understanding in pretreatment filtration and post treatment
Review and Approve P&IDs and provide mark ups per project specification and mass balance diagram.
Fully understand the requirement and impact of heat and mass balance diagram and interpret on P&ID line flows.
Perform sanity checks of P&IDs w.r.t. pressure flow storage level requirements MOC detailing dosing studies product fact checks for mechanical packages
Review and Approve sizing and velocity check calculations for different fluid applications
Ensure correctness of P&ID and incorporate as sold requirements to customer on the P&IDs w.r.t to proposal engineering.
Ensure correctness verify and cross check calculations for all mechanical equipment
Review and Approve equipment list along with equipment weight calculations
Thorough understanding and interpretation of MOCs piping specifications with applicable codes & standards like ASME ASTM API DIN
Review and Approve valve lists selecting compatible and optimized material constructs
Review and Approve electrical load list along with electrical load calculations.
Review and Approve technical package for critical commodities likes valves instruments specialty items such as bellows ejectors
Review and approve pump sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal reciprocating axial multistage pumps etc
Review and approve blower sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal reciprocating blowers
Perform and display technical acumen while performing evaluation - engage with vendors seek new technologies products look at cost saving.
Negotiate with vendors on technical evaluations
Review alignment of technical bid evaluations to encompass project requirements.
Review and Approve material take off from PIDs facility arrangement drawings or hand sketches
Review and Approve material take off with piping specifications
Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress.
Review and Approve Fabrication Drawing-Puddle Pipe Spools beam hanger lifting modules
Review and approve insert plate drawings
Lead a project team with mechanical designers & drafters
Align monitor & control project matrixes like schedule budgets
Ability to face customer regions at various project milestones
Own the detail engineering at an overall project level and resolve customer comments installation and commissioning comments. Display trouble shooting skills.
Qualifications :
Engineering Degree Mechanical Chemical (Preferred Masters in Mechanical Chemical)

Must Have Skills :
1. Expertise in basic & detailed engineering of mechanical equipment (static & rotating equipment packages)
2. Strong procurement engineering capabilities with technical negotiation skills and knowledge of testing and inspection protocols
3. Proven ability to manage multiple complex mechanical packages simultaneously including coordination with international manufacturers and vendors
4. Demonstrated experience in customer interface milestone management and cost optimization through change order identification
5. Knowledge of international engineering standards and compliance requirements
