About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and experienced professional to lead our Battery Design division. The Head of Battery Design will be responsible for driving innovation, overseeing the design and development of high-voltage (HV) battery packs for electric vehicles (EVs), and managing a multidisciplinary team. This role demands deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities to deliver cutting-edge battery solutions for passenger and commercial EVs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Battery Centre of Competency (CoC) for design and development of Li-Ion battery packs.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and managers across multiple battery technology functions.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term technology roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversee end-to-end battery pack development : requirement gathering, RFQ preparation, supplier evaluation, design reviews, validation, and release.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including CAE, prototyping, NPI, homologation, and vehicle testing.
• Guide the setup and scaling of in-house battery manufacturing and prototype facilities.
• Engage with global suppliers and partners for cell sourcing and pack integration.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and lead organization-wide HV safety training initiatives.
• Support advanced research initiatives including mentoring academic institutions on emerging technologies like sodium-ion batteries.
• Drive cost optimization, design for manufacturability (DFM), and value engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
