About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Production Manager for Show to join our Visual Effects Production team. This role is vital to the successful planning, communication, and execution of VFX projects, working alongside Producers, Supervisors, Coordinators, and Artists to ensure all creative and technical milestones are delivered on time and within budget.
As an Assistant Production Manager for Show, you will be deeply involved in bidding, scheduling, resource planning, client communications, and internal team coordination — all while fostering a positive and proactive production environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with Producers and supervisors for project bidding, play a role in pitching and winning projects.
- Coordinate with Resource coordinator, Department managers, Leads, and Supervisors to create and manage schedules across all departments.
- Support and oversee Coordinators and PAs; ensure dailies, rounds, and meetings are efficient and well-documented.
- Facilitate and attend dailies with junior production staff and respond to supervision needs.
- Monitor and act on internal show requests, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Stay fully informed about the production schedule and proactively advise team members and Coordinators.
- Manage bid utilization and coordinate closely with Producers for project cost estimates and timelines.
- Liaise with clients for secure upload / download of project materials.
- Track and structure delivery schedules, internal deadlines, and client-facing milestones.
- Ensure approvals, notes, and updates from clients are logged, shared, and actioned effectively.
- Alert and Advise on recruitment, outsourcing and in-sourcing needs with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely shot completion.
- Create reports and updates for Producers and Clients on project status and budget.
- Review and optimize artist schedules, ensuring effective time use and task clarity.
- Support a positive, problem-solving studio culture, even under deadline pressure.
Essential Skills & Experience :
4+ years of VFX production experience, with proven responsibility over complex, large-scale projects, with 2x years in a similar role.Proficiency with Shotgun (Shot Grid) and other production tracking tools.Strong experience in project budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and production documentation tools.Familiar with VFX methodologies, file formats, and workflow terminology.Able to motivate teams, resolve conflict, and maintain morale during high-pressure phases.Calm under pressure, forward-thinking, and adept at solving unexpected production issues.Preferred Attributes :
