1. Communication & Teamwork
Clear verbal, written, and nonverbal communication is essential to coordinate with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders
Strong teamwork involves active listening, respect, trust, and adaptability-key to resolving issues and aligning on common goals .
2. Exposure to Various Mechanical Commodity Types
Hands-on or theoretical familiarity with components like castings, heat exchangers, machined parts, and wire harnesses helps in understanding fabrication challenges and material properties.
3. Parts Classification & Attribute Knowledge
Distinguish between part categories (cast vs. forged vs. machined) and know their key attributes-material, tolerances, finishes, structural properties, etc.-to optimize manufacturability and cost.
4. Reading 2D & 3D Drawings
Competency in interpreting Engineering drawings-views, dimensions, GD&T, notes-and navigating 3D CAD models to extract feature and assembly information.
5. Creo Expertise
Proficient use of PTC Creo : solid and assembly modeling, section views, dimensioning, analysis, and integration into design / manufacture workflows bk-
6. Engineering & Manufacturing BOM Experience
Creation and management of eBOMs for design and mBOMs for downstream manufacturing; ensures accurate part listings, quantities, revisions, and model traceability.
7. Manufacturing Process Knowledge
Understanding fabrication methods such as casting, forging, machining, welding, sheet-metal forming, and wire harness assembly-along with their constraints, quality, and cost implications.
8. Advanced MS Office Skills
Mastery of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros), Word (documentation, templates), and PowerPoint (presenting technical info); essential for reports, BOMs, and stakeholder communication.
9. Basic PLM Knowledge
Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management systems (Windchill, Teamcenter, Agile, etc.) for document control, revision tracking, ECO workflows, and approvals
10. Data Management
Organizing CAD files, BOMs, drawings, revisions with structured naming, version control, backups, and access control to maintain integrity and traceability across the product lifecycle.
