Performance Test Engineer

Insight global are looking for a Performance Test Engineer for a long-term 18 month contract with possibility for extensions to join a large global data analytics company. In this role, the candidate will create and maintain performance test plans, utilizing JMeter, a load testing software; to inject, load and analyse metrics from application and system logs, and simulate system behaviour to improve the performance and reliability of the 40-50 applications.

This role sits within the centralised performance testing team which tests all 40-50 applications across the organisation as a shared service capacity.

A strong candidate should be able to handle the full lifecycle of performance testing including gathering requirements, writing test plans, performing script execution, conducting analysis and reporting with minimal supervision as this role will work in an independent function, tasked with individual applications to be solely tested by this candidate.

Must haves : Strong experience as a performance test engineer, utilising JMeter. Assist and demonstrate the best practices to do performance testing via JMeter. Experience monitoring applications & application dictionaries, assessing how many levels are involved in the network and understanding the root cause and how to get to the data. Proficiency using Grafana & DataDog (both preferred) or App Dynamics - tools to test the network and the database AWS Cloud exposure.

Plusses : Performance analysis skills using any tools for Application Monitoring, DB analysis and Network traces. Knowledge on Git for writing scripts.
