Senior Lecturer, Teacher Professional Experience

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer, Teacher Professional Experience to join School of Education, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.

We invite an influential Senior Lecturer with a national or international track record in advancing education research to join the School of Education. The successful candidate will contribute to world-class, applied educational research and teaching, and provide leadership in curriculum development, research, and professional engagement. The Senior Lecturer will teach across QUT’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs. They will demonstrate strong integration of teaching, scholarship, and research, alongside meaningful engagement with the education profession.

What you need to succeed

• A doctoral qualification in Education, or equivalent accreditation or standing, with demonstrated expertise relevant to Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and / or professional experience.
• Demonstrated excellence and leadership in university-level learning and teaching, including curriculum design, implementation of innovative pedagogical approaches, and authentic assessment practices in diverse and inclusive educational contexts.
• An emerging national or international profile in education, evidenced by a record of scholarly outputs, success in attracting or contributing to research funding, and engagement in impactful research and / or scholarship.
• Proven ability to lead and contribute to strategic initiatives, including academic governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement processes, particularly in the design and delivery of ITE programs and professional experience components.
• Strong record of academic administration and supervision, including coordination of units, supervision of honours and higher degree research students, and mentoring of early career academics or professional staff.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, early childhood settings, industry, and professional bodies to support high-quality placements, learning outcomes, and research collaborations.

To be eligible for appointment to this role, you will possess the following :
