Position Summary :
Manager, Data Governance
As the Data Governance Policy Support Manager, you will lead efforts to define, maintain, and monitor enterprise-wide data governance policies and standards. This role is central to ensuring that data is managed effectively across the organization and complies with privacy, security, and risk regulations. In addition to developing governance policies and frameworks, this role is responsible for auditing and monitoring policy adoption, working closely with global stakeholders to ensure adherence, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
You will be pivotal in reinforcing policy alignment across business and technical domains while enabling data trust and accountability across the McDonalds data ecosystem.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Policy & Standards Development : Lead the creation, review, and publication of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and data quality frameworks.
- Auditing & Monitoring : Establish and manage monitoring processes and audit mechanisms to ensure policy compliance and identify areas of non-conformance. Track adherence metrics and report findings to governance councils and leadership.
- Governance & Council Support : Collaborate with Data Governance Councils and Responsible AI Councils to align policies with evolving business needs, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
Additional Responsibilities :
Define procedures and controls that operationalize policy requirements within data products and platforms.Maintain a governance policy inventory and policy lifecycle management process.Facilitate policy awareness and training efforts with support from L&D and enterprise change management teams.Partner with privacy, legal, and compliance functions to align policies with global data protection laws.Review feedback from data stewards, analysts, and business users to improve usability and clarity of governance policies.Contribute to data governance maturity assessments and readiness reviews for audits.Skill :
Bachelors degree in information technology, Data Science, Law, or a related field5+ years of experience in data governance, policy development, or risk management and complianceDeep understanding of data privacy, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001)Proficiency with governance platforms like Collibra and GRC tools such as OneTrust or ServiceNow IRMExcellent analytical, auditing, monitoring and compliance . and communication skillsExperience developing governance training materials and facilitating adoption across cross-functional teamsAttention to detailDocumentation in and outside of collibra, stds / procedures / guidelines.Documentation policy inventoryCollibra functional use, leveraging workflowsCertification nice to haveAbility to execute maturity assessmentsWork location : Hyderabad, India
