What we're looking for :
- We are looking for a visionary creative leader to take charge of Matter's brand storytelling, visual identity, and communication design.
- As the Creative Director (Principal Designer), you will be responsible for defining Matter's creative vision across digital, print, spatial, and experiential channels, ensuring that every touchpoint with our customers is engaging, immersive, and deeply connected to the brand.
- This is a purely creative and subject matter expert role - you will define the creative vision, lead groundbreaking projects, and collaborate closely with the head of department, internal stakeholders, and external partners to push the boundaries of what's possible in automotive communication design.

What you will own and do :
Creative Vision & Brand StorytellingDefine and own the creative vision for Matter's brand, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.Craft compelling brand stories that integrate Matter's automotive, technology, and user experience innovations into highly engaging narratives.Develop high-impact visual and storytelling strategies that align with business objectives and elevate the brand's market presence.Push creative boundaries by leveraging emerging trends, technologies, and storytelling techniques in automotive design and communication.Multi-Channel Communication & Design Excellence
Lead the conceptualization and creative execution of brand campaigns, product launches, digital experiences, spatial experiences, motion graphics, and print communications.Ensure cohesive brand storytelling across all digital, print, in-store, experiential, and interactive mediums.Spearhead design innovation in motion graphics, visual storytelling, immersive experience design, and cutting-edge digital communication formats.Maintain an obsession for detail, typography, colour, and form, ensuring that all communication assets meet the highest creative and execution standards.Leadership & Collaboration
Act as the subject matter expert and creative thought leader within the Communication Design Department.Partner with the Head of Communication Design Department to execute creative strategies that drive business and customer engagement goals.Provide creative direction, mentorship, and inspiration to design teams, ensuring that projects meet brand and business expectations.Work closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, CX, and other teams to ensure design excellence and strategic alignment across all brand and customer touchpoints.Present and defend creative concepts to internal leadership, external partners, and cross-functional teams, articulating the value and impact of the creative vision.Stakeholder & External Partner Collaboration
Collaborate with external creative agencies, production houses, and vendors to ensure high-quality execution of Matter's creative vision.Be the voice of creative leadership when working with external partners, guiding them on brand requirements and creative direction.Regularly present creative concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and alignment with Matter's brand identity.What you will bring to us :
10+ years of experience in brand storytelling, creative direction, and communication design, preferably in automotive, technology, or lifestyle brands.An automotive enthusiast who deeply understands automotive aesthetics, communication, and branding.A visionary creative thinker who can push the boundaries of brand storytelling, motion graphics, and immersive brand experiences.Exceptional design expertise across branding, visual identity, campaign storytelling, motion graphics, digital experience, print, and experiential design.A master storyteller with the ability to simplify complex information into engaging, emotionally compelling brand narratives.Hands-on expertise in design software, digital tools, and storytelling techniques.Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external creative partners, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and business goals.An impeccable eye for detail, typography, colour, and composition, ensuring creative outputs meet world-class standards.A strong understanding of business strategy and consumer behaviour, ensuring design-to-business integration.Ability to present and defend creative concepts to leadership, cross-functional teams, and external Degree in Design, Communication, Visual Arts, or a related field.10+ years of experience in creative direction, communication design, and brand storytelling.A strong portfolio showcasing multi-channel brand storytelling, campaign design, motion graphics, digital and print communication, and experiential design.Bonus points for cross-cultural design experience and a deep understanding of the automotive industry.Culture and other pointers :
